You need to take him to court on this. HE is responsible for the damage to the transmission, pickup, and the other vehicle.
The transmission you are receiving....will be junk...I guarantee that.
As far as the actual cost of parts in the rebuilt that he is providing....less than $200...more than likely $100 (you won't be getting a cleaned & qualified converter). You are probably getting a transmission that they pulled out of another vehicle that still ran........
When you get to court, ask for the original cost of the rebuild, the replacement cost, damage to the truck, and damage to the other vehicle.
