Thanks. I love this motor. I had one way over kill in a 1979 Short 4x4 on 35" tires. It was built by Skull Marine I picked it up in a divorce for a song. It would pull the front tires off the ground without missing a beat. That's where the heads came from...truck burned in electrical fuel pump malfunction. This is a mild build with off the shelf Z28 parts same as the race car the engine builders use in '76 Camero. 400hp and 475lb big block numbers out the box. But up the cam to Weekend Warrior and its 500+ add NO2 and 600. Why? Its bad enough now. With this new Holley Advenger 670 it climbs the gears. You see the truck gradually raise then when I shift it gets low and back up. Before it was just the nose. Best part when I swaped out the stock 283 the sidepipes were still on. First fire in my buddies garage blew out all the packing. 9.5:1 Keith Black pistons. I called the guys... I said mild what the hell... all I got was giggles. So 383s don't compare in power or price. The alumminum housing on the T-5 is the weak point.
