How many motor builders today use domed pistons? They were the thing back when we had leaded gas but not today. Sure you can make it work but flat top pistons with modern heads like vortecs will work a lot better.
The old 350 cam had like 396/401 lift and the L31 cam has 414/428 lift plus it's a roller which opens the valves faster than the old flat tappet cam.
