Mine exits the sides just ahead of the wheels. Had it that way 2 years so far, and have decided I don't care for it.
The sound is "lop sided" (you hear 4 cylinders louder than the other side's 4). Probably curable with an H-Pipe. On long drives the exhaust drone is tiresome, you have to yell to talk, and can hardly hear the radio. Next time I am going with an H-Pipe and behinde the rear wheel side exit.
