Re: My K5 Blazer Story.

John was out in his Jeep today and dropped off the tuffy console. I immediately got to work on it. The opening for the radio was barely a 1/16th of an inch off on all sides for it to slide through. So I broke out my trusty Dremel and shaved it down until it fit tight. I used the typical bracket to attach the CB radio to the box with a couple of screws and lock nuts. Here's the box post surgery.

Inside. Lots of room in there.

Closer of the CB. Now it all needs cleaned up. Dusty and dirty.

Front side. I used a step drill to bore a hole in the side for the mic cable to pass through. Added a thick grommet and pushed the cable end through. Now I need a Mic mount on the outside.

Plans for the console are to add 12v power and 1/8th" Aux input jack for the stereo. I've got a dc/ac inverter we pulled out of a used truck I could put in there, but I really haven't had a need for 110v power out in the mountains.
