There is a pretty easy solution for this. See Auto Custom Carpets:
www.accmats.com buy a precut carpet for a pick-up for the front seat area and they sell material by the yard you can have made up for the flat back end. I did this and it was slick and cost effective. If there is a drawback it is that you are limited to loop carpet!
