If your thinking about ditching a 4L80E for a 4L60E, I would not.
A 4L80E is a bulletproof, (well almost) trans and can hold up to whatever street horsepower you put in front of it. They sometimes whine at slow speeds with a large load, but that is just the super-duty planetaries spinning.
If everybody had a 4L80E, trans. shops would go out of business.
