The standard column I have currently has a worn out detent plate, makes finding the gears tricky if not bypassing them all together. When you restore one of these columns, do you, or have you ever had to repair these detent plates?
I'm not in a hurry for one of these columns, but the 2007 Silverado seats I am using are pretty tall, makes the steering wheel end up in my lap, consequently making it hard to enter or exit the cab, so might be sooner than later. How often do you get one of these columns? I will at least have to ask the wife if I can do this, $500 is a hard sell with her...
Thanks!

There are no detent plates in a tilt column. In the hub there is a piece that controls the detent. So when its in drive it stay put.

I do have one restored column. The Price is $529.00. In addition to what I include for replacement parts this one includes Canceling Cam and Neutral Safety SW. Let me know.
