Hmm, 1/2 gallon is just 2-1/2% of a 20-gallon tank - do you think the gauge will be sensitive enough that you can even detect the difference? Is the sender accessible if you discover you don't like the setting and want to change it? Does it have the set-screw type float arm that's adjustable? Of course the important thing is that it's consistent and YOU know how much is left in the tank.
