Interesting putting the 292 in your 49 pickup. I have a 51 sedan and it has the front motor mounts along with mounts on the side of the bell housing, none under the trans. I take it yours is the same way? You didn't say as to what your using for a trans, but I take it you are using the original. I'm using an automatic in my 69 pickup, it has the 292 and I'm installing a 200-4R behind it. Being the 292 has side engine mounts and the trans mounts on it's own transmission mount you would not need rear engine mounts. It maybe easier to install if you would like an automatic, or they have 5 speed manuals with overdrives also that mount the same way. These would both make your truck a nice cruiser and give you better mileage.
This is all just a thought but if you go to the top of the home page and click on search you can put in anything you want information on and do some research. Which ever way to do it it will be a much better truck, good luck.
Being as how you are new to this site, you would benefit if you were to pay the $25.00 annual fee to join as mentioned earlier, there is a vast knowledge here on this site available to you that way. I believe you may have to join also to use the search. Good luck.
