Update

Went back to the shop cause this was buggin' me.

Decided to hang the other door and see if the issue's were the same on both sides and it turned out they were.

So that got me thinking "body mounts" or lack of anyway. (tubs just sitting on the frame)(cept for the small wood shim I had put in) DOHH!
Turns out once I removed the block of wood under the rear door pillar body mount and moved it up to the mount under the firewall...thing's magically changed.

Didn't have time to line everything up but the gaps now look alot better.
