Smokey Yunick wrote about these engines, maybe in Circle Track magazine. He was a GMC dealer until 1970 or so. He said those engines were great... for short periods of time. Had problems w/ fuel distribution, burned pistons, cracked exh manifolds. Seems like he spoke of them being in mostly fire trucks...He said when they ran, they ran great, just too many problems...

I'd like to see one!!!
