All I see is the ability to install a taller air filter. The lid looks like the factory heavy duty air cleaner option on the square body trucks in the 80's. This is the second one of these I have seen. probably just removed from an old motor home at some point.

I didn't figure it would do much, just though it was neat to see an old "hop up kit" from yester year.
