The B-J phenomenon affects project pricing. If someone has one of those trucks and sees "their truck sold for $XX" it suddenly floats all the other ships at sea. I agree it has nothing to do with real world pricing, though they should increase in value as popularity increases and/or muscle car prices continue to be a bit out of reach.
A plain jane Malibu is worth more than my 68 GTO convertible with a factory 4-speed.
