Well the discussion is now over concerning the V6 staying in this truck. I just sold it and the 4 speed transmission. I will take it out once the snow melts off.
Now the discussion turns to what will go back in place of the V6? I'm thinking 5.3 LS with a 4L60E would be the easiest and most affordable. Plus there is a ton of aftermarket parts to support it also. Hmmm... Maybe a 6.0 LS... Have to see what is out there!
