Cab panel - missing clip solution

I didn't have the clip. The trim panels have a formed lip that curls under around their perimeter. We will use pan head stainless sheet metal screws in leu of the clip:

What I did:
  1. Use Scotch blue masking tape to cover the paint on the area where the trim panels contact the cab.
  2. Set the panels on the cab and trace the outline of the panel.
  3. Measure the width of the lip and transfer it to the masking tape.
  4. Measure the diameter of the shank of the screw. I used #10. Take the shank diameter and divide it by 2 and then offset the line in step 3 by that amount.
  5. Drill (2) of the appropriate size holes in the approximate area of where the clip originally went. (see sketch below)
  6. Install the pan head stainless sheet metal screws but back them off such that the formed lip on the trim panel slips snugly under the screw head.
  7. Test fit the panel. Keep adjusting the screws until the panel is snug.
  8. Remove masking tape.
  9. Install remaining OEM fasteners into trim.
  10. Stand back and enjoy.
