I think I'm gonna take it back to the tire shop and ask them to double check the rear tires. I told the tech I always seem to have problems with the weights falling off. I dont know if it's because they're young guys and maybe not paying attention. Or theres something wrong with my rims. They are original stamped steel 5 lug rims. They got at least 4 or 500,000 miles on them.
Just want to say thanks to everyone for helping me figure this out.
The problem these days is there are a bunch of different kind of clip on wheel weights. Some for alloy wheels. Some for steel metric rims. Toyota even has their own special sizes. Most tire jockeys just grab whatever is handy without a thought as to if it fits correctly.
The old ladies Lexus has to use the Toyota specific weights. The inside of the factory rims have a terribly rough cast surface and stick on weights won't stay stuck. The last straw for me at Les Swabe was the tire technician telling me there was no differences even after I showed him a printed copy of wheel weight differences. This was after having lost 3 wheel weights in 3 days. Since they didn't care enough to do the job right I've been spending my money elsewhere for the last 10 years.
It's good to hear that all is well and thanks for posting the follow-up report.
