It is possible, I do it all the time. The only problem being you have to make sure whatever key you want to use will physically fit into all of the lock cylinders you are going to use. If it won't, then you will have to find the correct cylinders. There are four different keyways used for the '67-'72 Chevy and GMC trucks. The chart below shows the breakdown.

If the locks are original to the truck the following list applies. Be sure and check for a letter designation on your current keys in case the locks have been changed on your truck.. It may be stamped on the key or part of the part number on the key.

1967 = "A" blank
1968 = "C" blank
1969 = "E" blank
1970 = "J" blank
1971 = "A" blank
1972 = "C" blank

You will notice that the '71 & '72 repeat the '67 & '68 keyways. Some of the reproduction lock cylinders have "universal" or "unrestricted" keyways so almost any key blank can be used with them.

If your ignition key will fit into the door locks you want to use take the door locks and ignition key to your local locksmith and ask him what he would charge to do it. If you can't find door cylinders that will work with your key or a locksmith that wants to do it let me know.

Chris is correct on this as long as the locksmith is provided with lock cylinders that are compatible.
