OK, an update on this little issue and another question for someone knowledgeable.
Update: I ended up ordering stainless tile edging cutting it to length, manually rolling the ends, then polishing the hell out of it. They turned our incredibly nice. So, I ended up with a very believable set of "retainers" as the assembly manual called them for ~$90 plus some work. Not bad.
But, a quick question - does the [protective sheet metal box for the filler-neck stay on underneath the rear vinyl panels? If so it's going to create a funky gap. Anyone know how the CST's were built WRT that piece?
