That my friends, is why I'll pay the extra dough up front to get a 4l80e for my GMC. You save that money on the first tranny explosion that you prevented.

I plan to use the diesel shifter, I know a few guys who will re-program one for me. They are relatively simple to re-program as far as I am aware. They apparantly use a prom similar to any older GM ECM, and its just a matter of setting the shift table up for a gasoline engine rather than a diesel engine, which means that a guy has to do a couple of different tables, depending on the TPS, VSS, etc.
