OK, so it's time to give an update on this project. We had a lot of snow & ice here this winter so our shop has been pretty dang busy. The Suburban got put on the back burner while I actually used the space to fix PAYING CUSTOMER jobs!!!
We are still pretty busy but...I want my burb at least painted so I can get it back home to finish it off. The body is blocked out & seam sealed so the plan is to paint the firewall & roof 1st by the end of this week. I then will re-mask & paint the rest of the body the beginning of next week. The paint is called Ace of Spades black & is a premium custom color from Planet Color. It's basically a three stage black. The base color is straight black toner. You then add a clear mid coat with a special reflective additive over the black. This will add about another 1.5 feet of reflectiveness off the black which in turn gives it that deeeeeeeeeep look. Clear coat is then added like usual & voila...a show truck is born...or at least is painted
