That rig from
Emergency! is a 1969 Chevy C10 Suburban built by Stoner Ambulance Mfg. and as a matter of fact it resurfaced last year in Southern California after a very long slumber.
Happy to report it was purchased by an individual who is heavily into the restored emergency vehicle hobby. He immediately donated it to the LA County Fire Museum where it is currently undergoing a full restoration. Upon completion it will join their
Emergency! collection which includes the original Squad 51 Dodge rescue truck and both the Crown and Ward LaFrance Engine 51s.
I own a similar Stoner ambulance built on a 1971 GMC C2500 Suburban. And as a matter of fact, I just got mine back on the road last month! :-)
