I had been seriously talking about building the truck since about November of 2010 when I found a very nice '88 1-ton crew cab truck but ...... life happens and with a ton of other projects going I never found the time to get it started.
I eventually purchased another crew cab(this one a 3/4 ton) and even purchased a '93 dodge dually with 12 valve and getrag so I could rob the drivetrain out of and install it in my Hauler..... Once again, the 12 valve idea was my older brothers influence cause he did a swap in his '88 crew cab back before anybody was really doing it and I thought it was the coolest thing.
