For me the reason to cut was sentimental. My uncle bought it new, I rode around in it as a kid. I ended up with the truck, and was really in pretty great shape. Sold the shortbed ls swapped truck I had, to cut down the 3/4 ton big block truck and keep it. Still feels like the the truck I remember riding around in as a kid, but looks like something I want as an adult.
