As far as the serial number is concerned they don't care what type of truck, just if it's a light duty truck or not. 1/2 ton or 3/4 ton, fender side or wide side, v8 or six cylinder. They don't care when issuing the serial number. If it's a light duty truck it gets the next number in the sequence.

Gotcha! I’m going to pay the fee to find out more about mine specifically, and how maybe short box 4x4 fenderside GMC’s were made in Canada in 71. That has to be worth something no?
