If the 94 is a 1/2 ton, trans should be a 4L60E (by then, I think), if a 3/4 ton, should be a 4L80E. Yes, the 350 TBIs are a bit skosh in the hp department. Having said that, my seemingly endless search for a 93-94 K2500 Silverado with exactly that engine continues. Fruitlessly, I might add, they’re all rusted or have 300k mi it seems!

If you have the engine and it’s free - or if you just want to swap it in as a driver and not a hot rod, I’d go for it. If you really want to build a tire burner, you’d perhaps come out money ahead to start with a different approach, whether that be LS or crate 350/383, well, up to you.

And yes, you’re right, there IS something to that old school look. I can remember when a 94 350 was new school.. ha. But it does have the classic sbc look in general. As much as i do love my own LS engine, I have yet to Jedi mind-trick myself into thinking it actually looks good too.
