Your pictures are interesting. It's my opinion that the AC was either dealer installed or installed by a previous owner. The dash opening was cut with square corners, where as a factory install had clean rounded corners. What is really interesting, is that the truck has a cheap heater rather than deluxe. The dealer installed AC kits were offered for either heater. It's my understanding, the '64 model year AC was only dealer installed and that kit is a little different from the '65-'66 kits.
I hope Jon (60-66) chimes in here. He can provide a lot more credible information for you.
At any rate, you should try to get the unit. It would be good trade material.
