Re: Project: B.A.D. 1976 K30 CCLB

The last few nights on my break at work I started polishing my intake plate and valve cover. What do you think?

I started to trim my cross member in the front and eventually wacked it out. I was going to try to install this engine with a mechanical fan. However, I forgot that I have a return line that comes out of the back of the head. If I ever want to get it off or repair it if needed, I had to bring the engine forward to be able to do so. Oh well, I like electric fans any how.

I put a bare trans housing in there to see how it's going to fit. I'm going to have to either cut and modify a floor pan brace, or lower the rear of the engine to be able to install the over drive housing and transfer case on the transmission. We'll see what I come up with.

I also have to watch the front differential because this engine has a huge oil sump on it. I may have to add a 4th leaf to these springs if they don't like the weight and I'm not happy with the clearance I'll have after the weight of the power train is on the chassis.

Tomorrow I'm going to start building the engine cross member. It's going to be a PITA because this oil pan is deeper through out the entire length compared to 2nd gen dodge pans. I'm also going to redo the front cross member and build a steering box brace and integrate it into the front cross member some how.
