I have talked to Jason about the pancake as well. I shot for 2 inches. However, when you get it all tacked back in place. It will be a little different due to the amount of metal removed by cutting wheel. My pancake measured before cut was exactly 2 inches. After cutting and tacking it back. My measurement is 1 7/8" now.
So look at the threads and pictures. Measure and mark your xmember. Measure it twice and cut once.
Tip: Make the 1 inch cut from the top first. Then make the second cut after you have the top piece cut out. This way you can get close to the measurement as possible you wanted.
