What brand dash-cap did you use? I see a couple of spots in the pics that could possibly be tweaked for a better appearance if desired but it looks decent enough for the daily grind.
I used an accuform cap. Reason being is it covers the whole cupholder area, and more of the dash. The other brand i can't remember, but it doesnt cover nearly as much. Ive used accuform cap on other applications and been pleased.

They supplied a tube of silicone adhesives, and i supplemented with rtv when the tube ran out. If i had more of a dash to start with, and more time/talent, the fit could have been better.
