As far as wiring the head unit, is this what I need to wire it to the truck: http://www.metraonline.com/part/71-1677-1 ? If so, how does one go about wiring it? Is it basically plug and play, or do I need a harness adapter depending on what head unit I get? Thanks
Both of those should be fine...
You will have to cut the metal of your dash & the plastic for it to fit, unless you are getting a 2 knob old style head unit like the original.
Like panhandler said...plug adapter into truck's original radio harness. A plug with dangling wires will come with your new radio, so just connect the 2 then.
You can do it!
