Wanted to update this thread for those following along...I swapped my brake pads out for the Wilwood "E compounds". They have a slightly higher coefficient of friction across the temp. range than the BP-10 pads that came with the calipers. The combo of the new brake booster and the new pads is perfect! Pedal feel is soft and linear, much like a modern car, but the braking force is excellent. In a panic stop from 60, it brakes about the same as my 2016 4runner, with the fronts just barely hitting lock up, with no lock up in the rear.

At the end of the day, I think the changes were definitely worth the effort and a viable solution for those with low vacuum motors.
