I wasn't trying to rain on your parade. Every piece of information helps.

Since those are Gen III (LM7) & Gen IV (L94) engines that reinforces my comment about not generalizing based on LS engine generation.

The fun really begins when the previous owner swapped oil pans on you...

I was trying to avoid a trip to the store so I gave the filter I use on my LS4 a shot on my LQ4... because I had one and all LS engines use the same filter...
I discovered it didn't thread on like it should. NUTS...
I got to wash up so I could drive my nice car to the store to get a couple filters to finish the job.

I just wanted folks to be aware there are more than one thread size so they didn't get the nasty surprise I did.
