Nobody starts out in first unless they are pulling a semi trailer with their truck. These transmissions are really just a 3 speed with a granny gear and an overdrive.
But yeah, get a 5.61; they are much more plentiful and cheaper since all the offroad guys want the 6.34 first gear.
