I've used Loctite 37532 Black Weatherstrip Adhesive and some 3M stuff that is yellowish
I actually have a tube of both on the shelf, good call that's what I'll use.

Unfortunately, the two inner fenders don't have those holes since 1) one of them is a new repro part and 2) both have been powder coated thus sealing up any small staple holes. I'll pass on the staples and use the adhesive. Thanks for all the info.
