The unit is a lot more compact, and it has a much more consistent pedal feel if you do have a lot of vacuum variation. Your LS motor most likely had factory vacuum brakes.

That said, in my opinion anyway, they're not good to look at, too many extra hoses and pipes. I'd prefer the single vacuum line to the booster. I'm currently working around an 11" S10 dual diaphragm, but there was a 9" dual diaphragm heavy duty unit (In the 92 S10 it's option JM5) which is compact and not bad to look at :

It will work with the later straight bore masters that GM used in four wheel disc S10s (I'm using the one from a 2000 Blazer)

As far as the pedal goes, I used an S10 bracket, but it wasn't exactly a bolt in, I had to modify the bracket and extend the pedal about 2.5" to be where I was happy with it.
