Did you remove the wheels? It's easier to change the spark plugs if you reach through the wheel wells.
Option 2: buy this tool used on headers
Option 3: cut a socket down to make the same tool above.

I have that one. its handy for headers. but foer the 4.3 S10s I have this one.
