I'm sorry Tim, but I'd have to say in my experience, that is not even close to being accurate. There's no way, not by a mile. They are way, way, way more people looking for a '67 - '72 trucks. There's a Ford truck club close to here and there about 40- 50 members when everybody shows up, and even they overwhelmingly prefer the 53-56 and older body style. There are 2 or maybe 3 nice unibody trucks in the group. I sold them tons of my 48 - 56 stuff and actually found them several projects that they bought from me. I tried to sell my '63 to somebody i the group of them, but no one really wanted it. Several of them even commented why couldn't a find a 53-56 that solid! Maybe they are high in your area due to rust, but overall they are way down below the value of our trucks.
Here's another example. This truck was on ebay and was only bidded up to $5900 and it didn't sell.
This is a pretty nice truck, and a 460/C6 with power steering and power brakes. Even in this market, a 67-72 SWB in same shape with 18" wheels, a big block and turn key ready to look would have bidded way higher.
If someone really likes these trucks, they are one of the odd vehicles that most everyone seems to like, but don't want to spend a lot of money on.
