Actually the more timing needed the less efficient the head design. Then again I have near 30 degrees at idle on aluminum heads with a big cam. Butt dyno can't tell a difference on anything over 24 degrees but vacuum is better so the carb is happier with better driveability at part throttle. Wot is no different.
