'73 was the first year for dual tanks. To me, dual tanks means two matching tanks. The first auxiliary tank on GM pickups was offered in '69 and is rarely seen. That was a rear mount tank. None were offered after '69 until '72 when it was on the driver side in front of rear wheel. Aftermarket tanks it's hard to say, but it was long before these trucks came out
