If it causes a catalytic converter to melt then I wouldn't put it in anything. Threeway Catalytic converters start to degrade at 1400 degrees. At that temp the converter starts to cavitate it actually looks like some one took a torch to them.

Anything that hot you would also be taking at chance at cracking manifolds or even exhaust ports on your heads.

I have no experiance with acetone, but I do run emissions on industrial equipment if you have a catalyst that melts you got big problems.
