Tell us about the plugs... Gap? Color?
If they're the simple copper tip [not platinum or splitfires etc.] you can dress them with an ignition file, cleaning up any oxidation, and regap. .035'' for Points.
A Dwell/Tach/Volt Meter is indispensible for tuning non-electronic ignitions.
