Re: '86 GMC C-10 questions

Thanks Jstock! I went and took a look today (and that was all I could do as the battery had gone walkabout). Rust in the cab corners, rust in the battery tray, under the floor mats on the driver's side, rockers, sides of the box. Didn't look a the frame as the recent thaw has the truck sitting in mud. Owner is going to pick up a battery and I'll take it for a test drive.

I did get a look under the hood. All in all, not too bad. Engine was reasonably clean (owner said he replaced a valve cover gasket, did an EGR delete). Carb is a Quadrajet, which can't be too much harder to rebuild than the Rochesters on my beloved old 250s and 292s. (Granted, I haven't done one of those in 20 years.)

Per the label in the glovebox, it has a 3-speed auto transmission, so it isn't a 700R4. THM400? THM350? Rear end is a 2.73. Engine is a 305 (was secretly hoping it was a 292; I miss my I-6s).
