Thank you for that great explanation David, I get it now! About the alternator control module, is this something I should have taken from the donor truck?

I checked Auto Zone but they don't list one. I know where my donor truck is so I could go get it if I knew what it looked like. I figure this would be easier than trying to find someone to re-program my ECM.
