big block swap
i am wanting to install a 454 into my 1970 c20, i know i have seen it done on here and i was thinking there was several difficulties with it, but i am unable to find the posts i read befor about this, if you guys could point me in the right direction i would appreciate it very much.

Since the trucks were available from the factory with a big block chevy, the swap is very straightforward.
If you have a fully dressed short water pump big block, it's basically motor mounts..and maybe change the engine harness if you're watching details closely. Really not much to it other than some sweat & cussin. |

I've done two of these conversions in the past.
I just used factory big block mounts, pulleys, and brackets. No cutting, bending, or any other foolishness. It's a straight in factory swap.

You might be thinking about the big block into 4x4's. Sometimes that can be a little tricky since the 4x4's didnt come factory with big blocks during the 67-72 model run.

thanks, i do believe it was the 4x4 swap i was thinking of because i had planned on using a 4x4 frame as my cab is one of those with little rust. will i be able to use the column shift tranny in there now?
