Hydroboost?

Hey Guys
I'm going to put a hydroboost in my truck.
Do any of you know if the flange that bolts to the master cylinder is the same on a unit from 1995 astro van and a 2003 chevy truck?
The wrecking yard will sell me either one for tyhe same price and if the flange is the same I prefer the newer one.

my understanding is whatever hydroboost you get you need the matching master.

this is unless you get a kit with an adapter.


but the astro piece is very nice and will work fine.

The flange is the same . You will need a master cylinder that uses a short rod. I just install hydroboost on my '67 chevelle and I used a '78 corvette master cylinder.

FYI; I bought my hydroboost from pull-a-part for $15.00

I think I will just get the master cylinder that's on the hydroboost unit and save myself some trouble.
Out here they want $100.00 for the hydroboost from the wrecking yard.
I wish I could find one for $15.00.

Kim go to the Pick a Part on Milliken or the one on Pryrite, they have a bunch of them and you can pull it, I think I got one from a mid 90 Astro Van complete for like $35.

I picked up a unit out of a 05 truck.
I'm building a bracket to mount it behind the cab on the frame to make it easier to service the reservoir.

That's clean, what are you going to do about the rod to the brake pedal? going to replace it for a longer one?

I have some 3/4x1/2 DOM with some weld in threaded inserts to make up the rod. It should be about 30" when done.
The bracket is 3/16" thick. It's 5-3/4 tall. The end the booster bolts to is 5-1/4" and the long side is 8". The support bars are 3/4"
