The new guy
Been surfin' for a few days checkin out everybodies stuff. So I thought I better say something. I just became the very proud and excited owner of a 1970 2wd Blazer project. Will post pics as soon as it's home. I've got about a million and six questions about things but those will come later. Kinda new to these, been playin with some S series stuff. But couldn't pass up a free truck! Thanks Ed

i used to mess with a s stuff,but everybody was into it,i got in to these old trucks/blazers and haven`t looked back.. good luck on your new toy,and let the questions begin!!!!

It was passed down to me by my dad. He started to strip it for parts for a 71 swb that he put on a 79 lwb 4wd chassis. He lives in northern Mich. Couldn't see having a 2wd,and not much of a blazer guy.(can't haul enough fire wood) so it was kinda set out to pasture if you will. One day got to thinking and gave him a call, next thing I know I'm the new owner and getting all the original parts that were removed. As far as I know it 75% there V-8 4 speed no motor has top loader style trans still in it, no seats no windshield.

That "top loader trans" would be an SM465 in a 72. Granny first, 1:1 in 4th.
I've got one in my 4wd '71 blazer. Makes me feel like I'm driving a TRUCK! Nothing like 18" shifter throw! Brian |

Nice truck, yea I think only some 1350 2wd blazers were made in '70! or is it 1450? Anyway a 2wd '70 is a rare find! Good Luck!

It needs alot of work, I'll probably take the body off the frame and start with the chasis. Then tackle all the floor work. The rocker boxes are nonexicitant.So i'll have the leave the top on for now, but probably won't keep it. It's pretty wavy on the top and in pretty rough shape. My buddy that helped me thought it would be a good idea to put a ratchet strap across it because there was only two bolts holding.Cracked the top on both sides (its a double wall).
