I may have just messed up!
I bought a "truck bed trailer" that I've been working on, getting the dents out and filling the dings and I had sanded it down to either primer or metal. Remember, its just a trailer for hauling stuff in. So I rattle can it and sprayed 3 coats of primer on it. I then sprayed 2 coats of base and then I remembered I didn't have any clear coat. Since it's Sunday evening, everyplace was closed. I couldn't clear coat it tonight so I towed it into the garage and will have to wait until morning. Will I have to do any sanding in the morning before I apply the clear coat? How bad of a mess up is this?
Thanks for any help, Joe |

Re: I may have just messed up!
I've noticed after I've clear coated it, that it looks spotty. I'm thinking it might the way I sanded it? I said in some place to the bare metal and other places to the old primer. Any way to fix that? It's just a trailer and its just a matter of time before it gets dinged up again but would like to know so I don't do it again.
Thanks, Joe |

Re: I may have just messed up!
Did you get enough clear on it?..lots of condition issues also. temp, humidity etc. If the clear is lite, you can wet sand and do it again....Probably not what you wanted to hear.

Re: I may have just messed up!
What brand of paint? Also, how long did you wait before putting on clear?

Re: I may have just messed up!
Thanks for the good advice, since it's a truck trailer I'm going to leave it as is.
