Body lift

Does any one have pictures of a 67-72 suburban with a body lift ? I picked up a 6BT mated to a Allison 3060 6 speed transmission and might have to do a body lift to get the trans mission in. Thanks

Re: Body lift

I wouldn't do any kind of body lift.
The guys that have done the kind of swap you are planning here on the forum, they all appear to position the lump as to not get into the way of the body as much as possible. Then they cut, and form the body work where it is tight.

Have you checked out the diesel swap section?
"Mosesburb" is one that comes to mind, where he put the 6BT in and points out a lot of his trouble spots while installing and maintaining the system.

Re: Body lift

I know that the 6BT will fit not so sure on the Allison 3060. I will have to do a body lift and or cut the transmission tunnel out to accommodate this big tranny. Should be interesting !

Re: Body lift

I'm liking my transmission tunnel, it's huge. Might be easier than I thought getting that Allison 3060 in there !
