One of those summertime rainstorms blew up yesterday about 4 o'clock and my son ditched his truck and hit a small tree and some bushes. No one hurt, no police ticket, just a scared 16 year old with a bent up truck. Looking like a new bumper, brackets, grille, and hood. Right now, I don't think it damaged the radiator or knocked the front end alignment off. I drove it home and it drove just fine.

Be careful all. Wet roads can be just as dangerous as icy ones. GTT

Glad everyone is ok. That's the important part. All the truck parts can be replaced.

Ewww...That bites! Luckily only the truck was hurt and it looks worse than it really is.

I sure hope so. A friend says he's almost positive he knows where a wrecked white Chevy hit from behind is sitting in a wrecking yard. I may be able to fix it myself without doing any body/paint work. Gonna do some checking tomorrow. GTT

If you buddy's lead doesn't pan out try this site. car-part.com it will show the local salvage yards with what you need and many post color too.

Well, my buddy's lead didn't pan out so I found a wreck 50 miles away via car-part.com and they had just brought in a wrecked 96 Suburban. It wasn't white, it was silver, but the hood and bumper were pristine! Got them both for $225 with brackets/ hinges attached. Happy with that.

My son and some of his football buddies are putting the bumper on now. The hood has been dropped off at the body shop and is gonna be prepped for white paint tomorrow.

I'm feeling a lot better after things start coming together. I'll post a new fresh pic upon completion. Thanks again Cape! GTT

Got it out of the shop yesterday afternoon. Put a new set of Hankook Ventus 275s on it and hoping nothing else happens. I'm happy with it. GTT
